The Lake Cook Corridor encompasses over 472 acres of land and includes properties from Arlington Heights Road to just west of Weiland Road and from Old Checker Road to just south of Lake Cook Road. It represents a gateway into the Village of Buffalo Grove, as the Corridor connects the Village to both local roads and the larger regional network of expressways, highways and county or state routes. With more than 40,000 vehicles traveling on it per day, Lake Cook Road is one of the most utilized roads in the region.
The study area is characterized by a mix of land uses over one million square feet of commercial space, residential dwellings, the village campus, and a municipal golf course. Its high visibility, strong trade area demographics, and regional accessibility present opportunities for economic development/redevelopment.
The plan’s objective is to explore how the Village can best reposition the Lake-Cook Corridor so that it can optimize its growth potential. The Lake Cook Road Corridor study is multi-disciplinary in its approach and will include market, real estate, environmental, land use, transportation, and community engagement elements. The project is expected to be complete by the end of 2017.
Community outreach is a key part of the project. The public will be encouraged to attend and participate in community outreach events and activities that will occur throughout the course of the project.

DRAFT Plan is Now Available! Public Comment Period Runs to April 6
The Draft Lake Cook Corridor Market Study and Plan and Summary Video are were presented to the Village Board at the March 5, 2018 Committee of the Whole (COW) meeting. The project is now in the Public Comment Period, which runs to April 6, 2018
