The Village of Buffalo Grove is currently seeking applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic. Eligible applicants have the opportunity to qualify for ranking on an eligibility list.
The new hire will be selected during a two-year period from June of 2018 through June of 2020.
In order to be considered, applicants must be a U.S. citizen between the ages of 21 and 34; have a high school diploma or GED; possess a valid driver’s license with the eligibility to operate a vehicle in Illinois; proof of completion of *Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) and provide proof of passing a Ladder Climb Test with the attainment date of less than six months prior to the written exam; they must also have the ability to understand the English language, both written and spoken.
Applicants must register and pay an online application fee. Proof of this must be presented along with valid ID at the orientation and testing to verify that the processing fee and non-refundable application fee has been paid.
Applications and fees are due on Wednesday, April 11, 2018, by 5:00 p.m.
The orientation meeting and testing will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at 9:00 a.m. at the Arboretum Club, 401 W. Half Day Road in Buffalo Grove. Attendance at the orientation meeting and the written exam is mandatory for all applicants.
