Buffalo Grove recently received a number of recognitions from the neighborhood website, Niche.com. The Village was rated the 2nd Best Place to Live in Illinois, and the 6th Best Place to Live in the nation, in addition to a variety of other categories that landed Buffalo Grove in the top 10 - both in the State of Illinois and across the U.S.
These categories included Best Place to Buy a House in Illinois, and Best Place to Raise a Family, of which Buffalo Grove ranked #3 and #4, respectively. National rankings included being rated #5 for both the Best Place to Live in America, and the Best Public Schools in America categories.
The neighborhood website publishes yearly rankings within individual states, and also ranks states against one other. Factors that influence ratings include housing trends, diversity, quality of schools, crime rates, cost of living, access to family amenities, employment statistics, and overall quality of life.
“Our Village continues to be ranked in the top tiers for being a highly desirable place to raise a family, to work, and to live,” said Village President Beverly Sussman. “Our residents are what makes Buffalo Grove such a special community; they deserve this continued recognition and all the wonderful benefits our Village has to offer."
Resident reviews are part of what Niche.com takes into consideration for the rankings, in addition to data sources such as the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Census, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Centers for Disease Control, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and others.
