During the recent Halloween Traffic Campaign, the Buffalo Grove Police Department made 13 traffic stops and wrote seven seat belt tickets.
No impaired driving arrests were made during the campaign hours; however, three arrests were made for impaired driving that occurred over the last weekend in October.
Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this annual effort to save lives by getting impaired drivers off our roads, and more people buckled up during Halloween celebrations.
Extra emphasis was given to the late-night hours, when statistics show the most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur.
The recent law enforcement crackdown was made possible by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
