The crash occurred just after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Milwaukee and Prague avenues in Buffalo Grove. All lanes are now reopened to traffic.
All southbound lanes of Milwaukee Avenue were shut down from Johnson Drive to Lake Cook Road, in addition to the northbound median lane between Riverwalk to Johnson Drive in Buffalo Grove on Wednesday night, due to a two-car crash that occurred just after 5:00 p.m. All north and southbound lanes on Milwaukee Avenue have since been reopened.
At 5:02 p.m. Wednesday, Buffalo Grove police and fire were dispatched to an accident with entrapment on Milwaukee Avenue at Prague Avenue, just north of Lake Cook Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, emergency responders encountered four patients; two were transported to area hospitals, and two others were entrapped, with one in each of the two vehicles involved in the crash. Once they were extricated, the two remaining patients were also transported to local hospitals.
The traffic unit and accident investors remained on the scene for hours, which caused Milwaukee Avenue to remain closed until just after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday when all lanes were reopened.
No additional information is immediately available on the status of any of the individuals involved in the crash.
