Please contact Village Staff to set up a meeting to dicus the Special Use Process. The following items are required for a Special Use Submittal:
- Special Use Application
- Proof of ownership of the property, such as a copy of the Warranty Deed, Title Policy or Trust Deed
- Legal description of the property must be provided. This can be found on the Warranty Deed, Title Policy, Trust Deed or Plat of Survey.
- Narrative describing the specific request and its necessity.
- Response to Standards as provided by Village Staff.
- Plat of Survey for the subject property showing the location of the variation requested.
- Mailing labels of names and addresses of all property owners within two hundred fifty (250) feet of the subject property. The Township Assessor’s Office can assist you with this list
- Certificate of Mailing form. This form is included in the special use application.
- Fees will vary dependent on the escrow fee determined by the Village.
- If the application is being made by anyone other than the owner, include a letter from the owner authorizing that person to act as owner’s agent.
- Any other documents requested by Village Staff.
Public hearings provide a platform for the public to be notified as well as voice their opinions about the project. All public hearings are held at Planning and Zoning Commission Meetings.
- Notice of the Public Hearing will be published, not more than thirty nor less than fifteen days before the hearing, in one or more newspapers generally circulated within the Village.
- Public Hearing Sign will be posted by the Village of Buffalo Grove at least 15 days in advance of the public hearing date. The sign will be picked up by Village personnel after the final recommendation has been made by the Commission.
- Notifications of the public hearing will be sent out to the property owners within two hundred fifty (250) feet of the subject property.
