Buffalo Grove and Canadian National Railway Police Partner for 3rd Annual Random Acts of Kindness Day

Buffalo Grove PolicePolice Officers from Buffalo Grove, and representatives from the Canadian National Railway will once again be participating in ‘National Random Acts of Kindness Day’ by distributing free coffee and goodies at the Buffalo Grove Train Depot, 825 Commerce Court in Buffalo Grove on Friday, February 15, 2019 during morning rush.

National Random Acts of Kindness Day falls on Sunday, February 17, however, the agencies will be observing it early to allow officers the opportunity to meet with more commuters. They will be on hand to chat with morning riders and pass out free coffee and other giveaways.

“We look forward to this day each year,” said Buffalo Grove Police Chief Steven Casstevens. “This gives both agencies an opportunity to meet with those we serve in a fun and lighthearted capacity, and hopefully gets our train riders’ Friday off on the right track.”

The two agencies, along with Janet Smith, owner of Java Junction, the coffee shop located in the train depot, worked together to organize the event. Officers will be on hand beginning at 5:30 a.m., until the departure of the of the 7:27 a.m. train.
