Buffalo Grove Police  ´Stuff the Squad' Results

The Police Department partnered with local grocery stores and schools in May for a Stuff the Squad’ food and donation drive that resulted in nearly 4,000 pounds of food and more than $600 in monetary donations which were in turn donated to food pantries that serve the Buffalo Grove community.

Local food pantries have been a valuable resource for residents as the coronavirus pandemic has led to strained household budgets for many. The department is pleased to be able to collect resources that help community members during times of need.

The department would like to extend sincere appreciation to the following stores for working with the department by becoming a collection site for this event:

Mariano's 450 W Half Day, Buffalo Grove
Garden Fresh 770 S Buffalo Grove Rd, Buffalo Grove
Sunset Foods 4190 Route 83, Long Grove
Woodman's 1550 Deerfield Pkwy, Buffalo Grove
Jewel 79 McHenry Rd, Buffalo Grove
Target 1400 E Lake Cook Rd, Wheeling

Police had additional collections for the event at nine local elementary schools as part of the donation drive.

“Thank you to the local stores and schools that participated in the event and to those who gave so charitably,“ said Police Chief Steven Casstevens.  “The success of this event demonstrates the tremendous generosity of the community”.
