Cook County Department of Transportation and Highway’s (CCDoTH)'s will begin its Lake Cook Road concrete patching and overlay project on Thursday, June 1. Alternate routes are strongly advised, as this work will require lane closures in each direction, resulting in moderate delays.
What this project is not: Complete reconstruction similar to that of Lake Cook from Raupp to Weiland. Such a project along Lake Cook Road from Raupp to Rt 53 is planned, but not for many years in the future. Engineering studies are in the works.
What this project is: To address potholes and joint deterioration in the meantime, CCDoTH will complete concrete patching, along with an asphalt overlay to provide motorists relief and a smooth riding surface.
