drive-sober-350x330The Buffalo Grove Police Department has announced it issued eight seat-belt citations during the recent Super Bowl enforcement campaign. Officers conducted a total of 16 hours of enforcement and made 18 traffic stops during the campaign. No arrests were made for driving under the influence.

“The streets were safer over Super Bowl weekend because of these efforts to crack down on impaired drivers and ensure more people were buckled up,” said Traffic Sergeant Michelle Kondrat. “Keeping impaired drivers off the roads saves lives.”

The Super Bowl weekend, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” enforcement effort ran from Friday, January 31, through the early morning hours of Monday, February 3, 2020.

The recent law enforcement campaign was made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
