BGPD and Buffalo Grove Dunkin' Donuts® Partner for Coffee with a Cop

Coffee with a copThe Buffalo Grove Police Department invites all to join them for a cup of coffee and conversation Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Dunkin’ Donuts, located at 245 McHenry Road, in Buffalo Grove. Various members from the Police Department will be on hand to informally meet with members of the Buffalo Grove community.

The agency is hoping individuals with questions, comments, compliments or concerns will stop by and get to know police officers who serve Buffalo Grove. With no agenda or barrier, questions such as “why police officers stop people on the side of the road instead of a parking lot” or “how long are the patrol officers’ shifts” will be answered, with a goal to promote additional conversations.

“There can be an air of mystery surrounding police work, and our officers are more than happy to share information about how and why things are done,” said Police Chief Steven Casstevens. “If residents have ever had a question about policing, now is the time to come and ask!”

“Coffee with a Cop” was officially created in 2016, though the idea has been around for decades. Getting police and community members together to engage in casual, yet meaningful conversations is the goal of the morning, along with putting faces to the police department.
