Senior Taxi Program
Frequently Asked Questions
Through an arrangement with American Taxi and 303 Cab Company, the Buffalo Grove offers elderly and disabled residents a $2.50 discount on all meter fares originating or terminating in Buffalo Grove. There is no limit on the number of rides a resident may take per month.
Participants must call American Taxi at (847) 253-4411 or 303 Cab Company at (847) 291-0303 to schedule a ride. Upon entering the taxicab, the rider must inform the driver that the trip is being made at the Buffalo Grove Taxi Program rate and shows the driver the identification card.
Then the driver will record the origination and destination of the ride along with the date and his driver number on a voucher for later submission to the Village for reimbursement of the $2.50. The rider pays the discounted meter fare and signs the voucher slip with his/her signature and ID number.
Drivers are NOT allowed to sign the refund slip. No reimbursement will be made if the voucher is not signed by the rider. If you have any questions about a particular trip, please contact the taxi company directly.
