The Lake Cook Corridor expands over 472 acres (0.74 square miles) and represents a gateway into the Village. With more than 40,000 vehicles traveling on Lake Cook Road per day, this is one of the most utilized roads in the region. The Corridor has over one million square feet of commercial space, as well as residential developments, the Village campus, and a municipal golf course.
The Market Study and Existing Conditions Report is one of the project's earlier deliverables and documents the current market, lane use, environment and transportation conditions and trends within the study area as well as public engagement findings. The report was used as base to develop the Lake Cook Corridor Market Study and Plan.
The Lake Cook Corridor Market Study and Plan utilizes a unique scaled approach which balances opportunities with market demands, now and in the future. This means that the vision's initial focus will be on key sites that are currently ripe for redevelopment. The focus could then shift to redevelop other sites. All stages incorporate open space and provide options for maintaining or redesigning the golf course and/or exploring other open space options.
