Prairie View Metra Station Area
On April 15, 2019 the Prairie View Metra Station Area Plan was approved as a component and update to the Comprehensive Plan! The Plan will provide guidance for the properties in and around the station area over the next 10-20 years. Thanks to the hundreds of stakeholders who stakeholders participated in the plan's development. Efforts now are focused on plan implementation.
The Prairie View Metra Station Area roughly covers 128 acres and is located in the northern part of Buffalo Grove, centered around the Prairie View Metra Station. This encompasses land on both east and west sides of Main Street that includes of Noah’s Landing, Prairie Landing, Easton Station residential developments; Woodlands Shopping Center; and other businesses, and homes in the unincorporated Lake County. The Stancliff property, a vacant 40 acre parcel just southeast of Port Clinton and Prairie Roads, marks the northern edges of the study area while the vacant triangle parcel southeast of Half Day and Prairie Roads denotes the southern edge.
The Existing Conditions Report
is one of the project's earlier deliverables and documents the current market, lane use, environment and transportation conditions and trends within the study area as well as public engagement findings. The report was used as base to develop the Prairie View Metra Station Area Plan.
2019 Winner of ASLA IL Merit Award!
