Hogyn was sworn into the Buffalo Grove Police Department on June 20, 2016 after successfully completing an eight-week K-9 Basic Training Academy. Training included: obedience, narcotics detection, searching, fitness training and more. 

Officer Baron cares for Hogyn on a full-time basis. Hogyn lives with Officer Baron and when off-duty, is treated like a regular dog (with a few exceptions!). Officer Baron ensures Hogyn is healthy by taking him to the veterinarian regularly, exercising him, feeding, bathing and engaging him in play.  The two are inseparable which makes for a great working partnership!
